Practical Information

Getting Around

For this itinerary, rideshares (Uber/Lyft) and the QLINE streetcar are most practical. The QLINE runs along Woodward Ave, connecting Downtown, Midtown, and New Center. For Day 2, a car rental or consistent use of rideshares is helpful to reach Eastern Market and Belle Isle efficiently. MoGo bike share is excellent for the Riverwalk.

Book Ahead

Book your Motown Museum tour weeks in advance, for weekends. Reserve popular dinner restaurants (Selden Standard, Grey Ghost) ahead of time. Secure hotel accommodations early.

Packing Essentials

Comfortable walking shoes, layers for variable weather, a reusable bag for market purchases, a camera for murals and architecture, and a phone with rideshare apps.

Total Budget

$340-500 for 2 days (excluding accommodation)
